CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />JUNE 239 1997 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Colton was held on the above -given date at 5:25 P. M., in the Council <br />Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Mayor Gaytan invited Fire Chief Hendrix to lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember <br />Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, and Mayor <br />Gaytan. Also present were Acting City Manager Harmon, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk <br />Barrera. Absent was Councilmember David Sandoval. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Miscellany <br />Mr. William Yahn, Colton resident, commented on the proposed ordinance regarding <br />picketing/demonstrations. He spoke on the budget and audit. <br />Agenda Review: <br />Acting City Manager Harmon requested that the following item be added to tonight's agenda, <br />based on subsequent need: Consideration of Extension of Contract with Consultant for <br />Specialized Services in the Personnel Department. On subsequent need, City Attorney Biggs <br />requested the addition of one item for Closed Session, specifically, Public Employment, <br />Interim City Manager, pursuant to G.C. §54957, and for public hearing of Public <br />Employment, Assistant City Manager, pursuant to GC §54957. <br />Motion/second by CM Chastain and Mayor Gaytan to add the matters regarding extension of <br />contract and public employment of Interim City Manager and Assistant City Manager to be <br />known as Items Nos. 9, 10 and 11, respectively. Motion carried with CM Sandoval absent. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session pursuant to <br />Government Code §54957, regarding Public Employment, Interim City Manager. <br />At 5:35 P.
