City Attorney Biggs declared that the City Council did meet in Closed Session, pursuant to G. <br />C. §54957.6, to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernandez Harmon, regarding <br />negotiations 'with representatives of the Fire, Police Rank & File and Police Management <br />Bargaining Units. She stated there was no reportable action taken.. <br />City Attorney Biggs declared that the City Council did meet in Closed Session, pursuant to G. <br />C. §54956.9(b), to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding three matters of significant <br />exposure to potential litigation. She stated there was no reportable action taken. <br />City Attorney Biggs declared that the City Council did meet in Closed Session, pursuant to G. <br />C. §54956.9(b), to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the following matters of pending <br />litigation: On the 00of Colton v Colton Inn Motel City Attorney Biggs reported there was <br />no reportable action taken. On the GV of Colton v. CPOA, City Attorney Biggs reported <br />that on motion by CM Bennett, seconded by CM Cook, and a 5-1 vote, with CM Hutton <br />voting "No" and CM Sandoval absent, the Council did approve a settlement agreement that <br />had been executed by CPOA and it settled the lawsuit. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Presentations, Awards Proclamations <br />0 The Business Beautification Award was presented to the Better Business Bureau. <br />The Most Improved Business Award was presented to Better Business Bureau by the Colton <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />0 Certification of Recognition was presented to Mr. Fred Cordova. <br />0 Colton Youth Soccer Organization was joined in celebration of its 20'h anniversary. <br />0 Recognition was given to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) for <br />its 76th Anniversary during August 1997. <br />0, The day of July 27, 1997 was proclaimed National Parent's Day. <br />0 The month of August 1997 was proclaimed National Breast Feeding Awareness Month. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Taormina <br />Mr. Steve Anderson and Mr. Jim Grimsby commented on Taormina Industries, garbage <br />service and lawsuits. <br />Mr. Tom Voght, President of Taormina Industries, addressed allegations raised by the <br />McDonald investigation and report. Mayor Gaytan, CM Hutton and City Attorney Biggs <br />responded. <br />Messrs.
