CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />AUGUST 19, 1997 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date <br />at 6:17 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Mayor Gaytan invited Councilmember Chastain to lead the assembly in the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION: <br />Dr. Tom Harvick offered the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember <br />Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, <br />Councilmember David Sandoval and Mayor Karl E. Gaytan. Also present were Interim City <br />Manager Wood, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Barrera. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to Government Code §54957.6, regarding the following personnel matter: Performance <br />Evaluation: City Attorney. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to Government Code §54956.9(b), to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the following <br />matter of pending litigation: Barnes, De La Cruz & Newhaven v. City of Colton. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session to confer <br />with Legal Counsel regarding one matter of significant exposure to potential litigation, <br />pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(b). <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to the Provisions of Section 54957, with regard to the following personnel matter: Public <br />Employee Discipline. <br />At 6:19 P. M., Mayor Gaytan recessed the meeting to Closed Session. At 8:18 P.
