Governing BoA Repor : <br />Redevelopment Agency Vice -Chairperson Sanders reconvened the Agency general meeting <br />for the purpose of addressing Agency Agenda Item C-1: Election of (Agency) Chair and <br />Vice -Chair. <br />Member Gaytan nominated and moved for the election of Member Sanders and Member <br />Cook as Agency Chairperson and Vice -Chairperson, respectively. Motion was seconded by <br />CMHutton and it carried by unanimous vote. <br />ADJOURAMENT (REDEVELOPMENTAGENCY) <br />At 8:34 P. M, Member Gaylan movedfor adjournment and with consensus of the Agency <br />Board, Chairperson Sanders declared the Redevelopment Agency Meeting adjourned <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING (reconvened) <br />UNFINISRED BUSINESS: <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Report on "El Nifto" <br />Acting Fire Chief Tom Hendrix provided pamphlets and reported on the City's aggressive <br />preparations for the weather phenomenon known as "El Nifio." He cautioned the citizens on what <br />to do in dangerous conditions and he enumerated steps the residents could employ in disaster <br />preparedness. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: (continued) <br />Rev. Steve Anderson suggested that the disaster preparedness pamphlets be available at City Hall. <br />He inquired on the filling of sand bags. He read a "no confidence vote" letter from the Colton <br />Volunteer Firefighters Association. He congratulated CM Grimsby. <br />Unfinisbed Business (continued) <br />UTILITY DIRECTOR'S REPORTS & RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Public Benefit Chary <br />.1 <br />Assistant Electric Director Tim Trewyn submitted the proposed resolution establishing a public <br />benefit charge in accordance with State Assembly Bill 1890. <br />Motion and second by Mayor Gaytan and CM Cook to accept and adopt the resolution enacting a <br />Public Benefits Charge of $0.0029 (2.9 mils) per Kilowatt-hour on all kilowatt-hours sold to all <br />retail customers served by the Colton Electric Utility, effective January 1, 1998 and thereafter as <br />long as required by State law. Said charge to be adjusted on an annual basis for each new fiscal <br />year to obtain the revenue required by State law.
