CONSENT CALENDAR (1) Minutes - Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes of December 17, 1996 and Adjourned Regular Meeting Minutes of January 14, 1997, as on file in the Office of the City Clerk. (2) Warrants - Approval of Warrants Register dated 1/2/97, consisting of 9 Pages: Warrants Register dated 1/13/97, consisting of 5 Pages; Payroll Warrants Register dated 1/8/97, consisting of 3 Pages; and, Payroll Warrants Register dated 1/15/97, consisting of 10 Pages, as recommended by the Director of Finance. A separate vote requested by Councilmember Chastain due to a possible conflict. Motion/second by CM CooklBennett for approval of Warrant's. Motion carried with CM Chastain abstaining and CM Sandoval absent. (3) Personnel - Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Full -Time Position of Customer Services Representative I in the Finance Department. (4) Personnel - Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Full -Time Position of Account Technician I in the Finance Department. (5) Personnel - Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Part -Time Position of Police Cadet in the Police Department. (6) Personnel - Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Full -Time Position of Sewer Line Maintenance Worker II in the Water and Wastewater Department. (7) Personnel - Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Full -Time Position of Sewer Line Maintenance Worker in Training in the Water and Wastewater Department. (8) Contract - Award of Contract for Classification and Compensation Study to L.B. Hayhurst & Associates in the Amount of $34,500.00. At Councilmember Bennett's request item pulled for discussion and clarification. Elaine Craig, San Bernardino Public Employee's Association Representative, spoke in favor of the study. Bob Vialobos, Electrical Workers Local #47, spoke in favor of the study. Gracie Harmon, Personnel Director, responded to concerns expressed by Council regarding implementation of study recommendations after its completion and timetable for completion of study. Motion/second by CM Bennett/Cook, to approve staff's recommendation for the Classification and Compensation Study. Motion carried with Councilmember Sandoval absent. (9) Contract - Amendment of Contract, in the amount of $25,190 with Topping Jaquess Consultants, Inc., for Additional Work on the Capital Infrastructure Study. — At Councilmember Sander's request item pulled to direct staff to invite the Arrowhead Management Group to be a part of the Ad hoc Committee. ►N
