CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />MAY 209 1997 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date <br />at 6:22 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Mayor Gaytan invited Chief of Police Bernie Lunsford to lead the assembly in the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION: <br />Chaplain Jim Stovall offered the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember <br />Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, <br />Councilmember David Sandoval and Mayor Gaytan. Also present were Acting City Manager <br />Harmon, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Barrera. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />City Attorney Biggs stated that two matters of potential litigation needed to be added to <br />Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(B), which required a five - <br />person vote to add. She stated the matters had arisen since the posting of the Agenda. <br />Motion/second by CM Bennett/Cook, to add the two matters of potential litigation as Item C <br />of the Closed Session, carried unanimously. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to Government Code Section 54957.6, to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernandez <br />Harmon, regarding negotiations with representatives of the Fire, Police Rank & File and <br />Police Management Bargaining Units. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to Government Code Section 54956.9(b) to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the <br />following matters of pending litigation: <br />Taylor v.
