CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 02, 1997 A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 6:08 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. FLAG SALUTE: Mayor Gaytan invited Councilmember Bennett to lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. INVOCATION: Pastor Benjamin Nihcolas offered the invocation. ROLL CALL: Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, Councilmember David Sandoval and Mayor Gaytan. Also present were Interim City Manager Wood, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Barrera. CLOSED SESSION: City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54957.6, to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernindez Harmon, regarding negotiations with representatives of the Fire, Police Rank & File and Police Management Bargaining Units. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(b), to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the following matters of pending litigation: Tennyson v. City of Colton On motion of CM Bennett, seconded by CM Sanders, to add a matter to Closed Session, which was brought to City Council's attention a half-hour before the meeting, after the posting of the present agenda, carried upon unanimous vote. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(b), to confer with Legal Counsel regarding one matter of significant exposure to potential litigation. At 6:11 P. M., Mayor Gaytan recessed the meeting to Closed Session. At 7:41 P. M., the general meeting was reconvened with all Members present as heretofore. City Council Minutes September 02, 1997 1
