CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />SEPTEMBER 02, 1997 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date <br />at 6:08 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Mayor Gaytan invited Councilmember Bennett to lead the assembly in the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION: <br />Pastor Benjamin Nihcolas offered the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember <br />Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, <br />Councilmember David Sandoval and Mayor Gaytan. Also present were Interim City Manager <br />Wood, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Barrera. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to Government Code §54957.6, to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernindez <br />Harmon, regarding negotiations with representatives of the Fire, Police Rank & File and <br />Police Management Bargaining Units. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to Government Code §54956.9(b), to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the following <br />matters of pending litigation: Tennyson v. City of Colton <br />On motion of CM Bennett, seconded by CM Sanders, to add a matter to Closed Session, <br />which was brought to City Council's attention a half-hour before the meeting, after the <br />posting of the present agenda, carried upon unanimous vote. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant <br />to Government Code §54956.9(b), to confer with Legal Counsel regarding one matter of <br />significant exposure to potential litigation. <br />At 6:11 P. M., Mayor Gaytan recessed the meeting to Closed Session. At 7:41 P.
