MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: COMMENTS, INTER -GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY <br />REPORTS, INFORMATION SESSION: <br />• City Manager Garcia read and presented a Certificate of Recognition to Randy L. Anstine, <br />Neighborhood Services Director. <br />• CM Cook issued invitation to the Grand Opening of the San Bernardino International Airport <br />Terminal Building on May 12, 1998 at 12:30 P. M. <br />• CM Cook spoke about the traffic signal at Rancho and Olive Streets; the paving of South 5'b <br />Street; the curbs, sidewalks and gutters near San Salvador School; the new lights at Veterans <br />Ball Field. She attended a celebration for Dr. Sharon Caballero, SBVC President. <br />• CM Hutton wished speedy recovery to Mrs. Lee Gonzales who recently underwent a double <br />by-pass surgery. <br />• CM Sanders announced town hall meetings in District One on April 29, 1998 at Morris <br />Elementary School and on May 14, 1998 at Paul J. Rogers. He stated adamantly that there <br />would be no expansion of the landfill. <br />• CM Bennett supported the comments on the landfill item and she explained there were no <br />changes to the requirements in the massage parlor ordinance. <br />• CM Chastain reported her participation at a recent SCAGS Regional Board meeting and the ad <br />hoc committee's study of the dump issue. <br />• Mayor Gaytan spoke about his discussion with La Loma constituents regarding the landfill. <br />CLOSED SESSION: (Continued) <br />Mayor Gaytan announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session on one remaining matter, <br />previously announced: CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR. <br />RECESS: <br />At 8:47 P. M., meeting adjourned to Closed Session and at 9:22 P. M., the meeting was reconvened <br />with all Members present, except for CM Grimsby, who was absent. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />Interim City Attorney Carvalho declared the City Council did meet in Closed Session and considered <br />the following item: <br />A.
