The following City Officials were sworn into office by City Clerk Barrera: Council Member <br />Richard DeLaRosa, Council Member Donald Sanders, 'Council Member Betty Cook and Mayor <br />Karl Gaytan. <br />COMMENTS FROM INCOMING CITY OFFICIALS: <br />Introduction of family members, comments on individual goals and vision for the City of Colton <br />and expressions of gratitude were expressed by the newly -elected and sworn City officials: CM <br />Donald Sanders, CM Richard DeLaRosa, CM Betty Cook and Mayor Karl Gaytan. <br />RECESS: <br />At 6:43 P. M., Mayor Gaytan > declared a recess for a reception held in honor of the incoming <br />City Officials. At 7:12 P. M., the general meeting was reconvened. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />CM Donald J. Sanders CM Richard A. DeLaRosa <br />CM Kelly J. Chastain CM Betty L. Cook <br />CM Deirdre H. Bennett CM James B. Grimsby <br />Mayor Karl E. Gaytan <br />City Manager Garcia City Attorney Associate Derleth <br />City Clerk Barrera <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS: <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />Mayor Gaytan acknowledged receipt of a letter from Jesus Morales and read from a pamphlet, <br />which was a dedication to the memory of Richard Thomas Morales, a celebration of his life. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS. <br />Notice of Completion - CFD 89-1 <br />In response to questions regarding the median, City Manager Garcia said the City had the trees <br />for planting, that time had been spent reseeding, mowing, and weeding the particular area. He <br />reported that the City had solved the booster problem regarding regulations. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Cook/Chastain to approve the Final Acceptance of the <br />CFD 894 Cooley Drive and Washington Street Landscape Medians Project and authorize the <br />recordation of the Notice of Completion carried with the consensus of Council <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following persons spoke on community items: Dick Churchwell and Charles Jackson. <br />Council Mins December 1, 1998 2 <br />� __-. _-.- <br />
