MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS; COMMENTS, INTER -GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY <br />REPORTS, INFORMATION SESSION: <br />District 4 - CM Cook spoke about the "Wonders of Christmas" the Annual Home Decorating <br />Contest the Crossroads Publication; the success of the Thanksgiving Day Dinner at Luque <br />Center and reported on the walk -way project in the Downtown district. <br />District 3 - CM Chastain spoke about the Thanksgiving Day Dinner at HuttonCenter; the Tree <br />Lighting Ceremony the Rotary Breakfast, the Street Faire, ' the need for OMNITRANS <br />benches and the Make a Child Smile project. <br />District 1 - CM Sanders requested' a report by January 5, 1999, on the 3-5 Storm Drain <br />Improvement Project and the 3-3 Storm Drain regarding cap; inquired about transportation <br />between Luque Center and Hutton Center, asked Staff to develop a comprehensive plan <br />regarding transportation at and around' the Medical Center; referred to Delhi Sand Fly and <br />individual properties; suggested use of matrix to heighten degree of accountability; and <br />requested a report in January/February regarding landscape and lighting districts as well as <br />the matter of enforcement of "no parking" and clean-up in and around DPSS area. <br />District :5 - CM Bennett identified ongoing maintenance problems: Traffic light at Mohave, <br />lights over street signs at Cooley and Reche Canyon and requested to know how street lights <br />are installed. She referred to a publication article regarding street lights in Tucson, AZ. A <br />survey was requested on the use of solar powered street lights. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />Item 8 - Discussion ensued on when paving would start after the award of bid. James King <br />explained the process and said he anticipated work would proceed within 30 days. A request was <br />made to have Staff include in Agenda Reports a category identifying integration, coordination and <br />communication, to help identify impact, if any, on a project. Discussion followed on landscaping <br />at well sites. <br />Item 12 - Direction was given for a status report regarding the realignment project. Assistant <br />City Manager Parrish explained that the present action was to accept an easement from the RIX <br />project to enable the City to grant a license, or easement, to Rialto so it could construct its sewer <br />line to service the RPS project. He indicated that this was not the realignment of the road. <br />MOTION/VOTE Motion/second by CM Cook/Chastain to approve the Consent Calendar, <br />except for Item 3, which was pulled, for separate vote.
