MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Bennett/Cook to conduct workshops establishing opinion <br />polls to determine the feeling of the community about the feasibility of proceeding with the issue of <br />term limits before the voters in November 1998, with a deadline of July 30, 1998, for the first meeting <br />in August. Unanimous vote. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: City Manager. <br />City Manager Garcia reported that on Monday, March 2, 1998, he received a request to grant <br />permission from the Redlands Bicycle Classic for its event to pass through the City of Colton on <br />March 6, 1998. The matter was reviewed by the Risk Manager, who expressed no objection thereto. <br />Staff recommended approval to add the item, which arose following the posting of the Agenda. After <br />careful inquiry, Interim City Attorney Carvalho indicated that if the Council so moved, it could be <br />added to the Consent Calendar as Item 15A. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Hutton/Bennett to add the item to the Consent Calendar <br />carried with no objection from City Council. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Made possible through grant funding, Acting Police Chief Crowe introduced new police offers: Brian <br />Stuart and Joe Moreno. <br />Bill Yahn commented on Term Limits and the Taormina contract. <br />Mike Correra, Youth Soccer Representative, noted recent accomplishments. <br />Steve Henderson, 3048 Prado (370-0480) spoke about a mudslide threatening his property. City <br />Manager Garcia arranged to meet with him, and staff, on Thursday, to determine City <br />boundaries, The City Manager indicated he would report, by telephone, to the City Council. <br />Pat Pallham, 24066 Prado, related a problem with cars coming into her yard. City Manager Garcia <br />offered to investigate the matter on Thursday, as well. <br />John Longfield commented on the City Manager, Term Limits; Hunts Lane and the trains; street <br />sweepers and the recent Firemen's Ball. Pictures were submitted.
