RECESS: <br />At 7:05 P. M., recess declared and at 7:27 P. M., meeting is reconvened with all members <br />present except for CM Grimsby who was absent from his place at the dais. <br />PUBLIC HEARIN : <br />Municipal Code - Business License Cap <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider the first reading of an ordinance regarding the <br />revised amendment to the Business License Ordinance, implementing a $6,000 annual cap. <br />Mayor Gaytan declared the Public Hearing "open." <br />City Clerk Barrera submitted an Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or <br />objections were received. <br />Community Development Director Zamora reviewed his written report. <br />MOTION/VOTE: After the call for Public Comment, motion/second made by CM <br />Sanders/Bennett to terminate the Public Hearing carried with no objection and with CM Grimsby <br />absent from his place on the dais. <br />Motion made by CM Sanders, seconded by CM Bennett, to waive full reading and pass first <br />reading of Ordinance No. 0-18-98, regarding revised amendment to the Business License <br />Ordinance implementing a $6,000 Annual cap. Motion carried with CM Grimsby absent. <br />At 7:30 P. M., CM Grimsby assumed his place on the dais. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Christopher Gahr commented on a negative newspaper article. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Comments, Inter -governmental Agency Reports, <br />Information Session: <br />• With the resignation of Eugene Mc Means, Mayor Gaytan declared a vacancy on the Utilities <br />Commission. The City Clerk will post the vacancy and accept applications. <br />• CM Cook spoke about Lincoln Elementary School and the Reading Buddy Program group's <br />visit to City Hall and the Fire Department. She announced the Senior's Spring Dance on <br />Saturday, May 23, 1998, at the Community Center.
