M., in the Council Chambers of City <br />Hall, with Mayor Gaytan, presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Fire Chief Hendrix. <br />INVOCATION <br />Invocation offered by Dr. Harvick. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />CM Donald J. Sanders <br />CM Betty L. Cook <br />CM James B. Grimsby <br />City Manager Garcia <br />Mayor Karl E. Gaytan <br />Deputy City Clerk Delgado <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />CM Kelly J. Chastain <br />CM Deirdre H. Bennett <br />CM John C. Hutton <br />City Attorney Carvalho <br />❖ Proclamation read declaring the month of September as Literacy Month; City Librarian David <br />Davis commented and accepted the document. <br />PUBLIC HEARING: <br />ABANDONMENT OF 0 & "K" STREETS <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider the abandonment of a portion of e and "K" Streets. <br />Mayor Gaytan declared the Public Hearing "open." <br />Deputy City Clerk Delgado declared the Affidavit of Publication was on file in the City Clerk's <br />Office and reported there were no protests or objections thereto. <br />Council Mins Sep. 1, 1998 1 <br />
