MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: COMMENTS, INTER -GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY <br />REPORTS, INFORMATION SESSION: <br />• Boards and Commissions - None presented. <br />At Large Mayor Gaytan reported progress by IVDA and SBIAA, on the financial revenue <br />condition and said the new director would report to City Council at its next meeting. <br />District 4 CM Cook acknowledged a "Thank you for memories" poster from Ms. Roman's class <br />at Lincoln Elementary School and read a letter of gratitude from Wilson Elementary <br />School for her efforts in placing a long-awaited traffic signal at South La Cadena <br />Drive and 7' Street. <br />District_1 CM Sanders attended a meeting in Diamond Bar on the Slover siding, a Union Pacific <br />issue and reported that the intent was to move the trains from Jackson Street to due <br />north to Jennifer Court. He encouraged the public to report emission problems to <br />Union Pacific. CM Sanders requested a payment plan in IVDA's study and report. <br />District 5 CM Bennett stated that if requests for service items were addressed and taken care of <br />in a timely manner, they would not be in issue. She termed it appalling when the <br />residents felt there was retaliation going on. People were paid to do a job and when <br />that job was not done, somebody needed to hold them accountable. She said the City <br />Manager should make certain that the role of each department head was being carried <br />through equitably, to all districts, and to see that all memoranda, all requests for <br />service were being addressed in a timely fashion. <br />At Large Mayor Gaytan stated that change of residence of his appointee necessitated an <br />exchange of commissioners between himself and CM Cook. <br />AGENDAREVIEW: <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/vote by Mayor Gaytan/CM Bennett to advance and combine all items <br />of the Agenda with the Consent Calendar for one action carried with no opposition. <br />Item Nos. 4, 7, 12 and 16 were pulled for discussion or separate action. <br />ITEM 4 - On-site Store of Refuse Containers <br />CM Sanders informed he had received citizen concern about the potential impact to the <br />community on allowing the storing of trashcans in the sideyards. Community Development <br />Director Zamora responded. Discussion ensued. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Chastain/Grimsby to waive full reading and pass <br />second reading of ORDINANCE NO. 0-17-98, pertaining to the on-site storage of refuse <br />containers in residential zones.
