CITY OF COLTON <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 1998 <br />Regular Meeting held on the above given date at 6:14 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City <br />Hall, with Mayor Gaytan, presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by City Manager Garcia. <br />INVOCATION <br />Invocation offered by Chaplain Kim Starr. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />PRESEW? <br />CM Donald J. Sanders CM Kelly J. Chastain <br />CM Betty L. Cook CM Deirdre H. Bennett <br />CM James B. Grimsby CM John C. Hutton <br />Mayor Karl E. Gaytan <br />City Manager Garcia City Attorney Carvalho <br />City Clerk Barrera <br />ITEM NO. 23 - Tiger Rescue <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/Cook to advance Item 23 on the agenda <br />carried with no opposition. <br />Utility Director Tom Clarke introduced Messrs. Vern Schaeffer and John Weinhart from Tiger <br />Rescue, a non-profit organization, previously located in Riverside and because of population <br />growth, 80 endangered specieswere forced to relocate in the City of Colton's surplus property. <br />Mr. Weinhart displayed one of the animals from Tiger Rescue. <br />Motion/Vote: Motion/second by CM Bennett/Cook to authorize the City Manager to negotiate <br />and execute the lease with Tiger Rescue for the relocation of its animal sanctuary to the City of <br />Colton, at a six -acres site, formerly the old sewer treatment plant, carried with no opposition. <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />>k Praise for Cody Edward Sorensen's achievement of Eagle Scout rank, in Boy Scout Troop 240. <br />Council Mins Sep. 15, 1998 1 <br />
