This was the time and place fixed to consider finalization of the process for designation as Historic <br />Landmark No. 44, the property located at 100 1 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California 92324. <br />Mayor Gaytan declared the Public Hearing opened. <br />City Clerk Barrem reported that the Affidavit of Publication was on file in her office and reported <br />that there were no protests or objections received. <br />City Manager Garcia presented brief background for this request and asked for approval of Staff s <br />recommendation. <br />MOTIONNOTE: There being no response to public comment, motion/second by CM <br />Cook/Bennett to terminate the public hearing carried with no objection thereto. CM Sanders was <br />absent. <br />Motion by Mayor Gaytan, seconded by CM Cook, to accept and adopt RESOLUTION NO. R-98- <br />99, designating the residential structure located at 1001 North La Cadena Drive to the local Register <br />of Historic Resource, carried with CM Sanders absent.. <br />CM Cook presented plaque #44 to Bill and Clovia Velasquez. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Dick Mosher, Colton resident, raised the issues of truck signs and sidewalks for Rancho Avenue. <br />City Manager Garcia said the truck signs would be erected by December 31, 1999 and that the <br />sidewalks would be addressed in January 2000. Police Captain Heusterberg said that signs needed <br />to be posted before citations could be issued. He assured that information was being disseminated. <br />After discussion, Staff was directed to set up electronic information signs at the same time signs <br />were posted. <br />Colton resident John Longfield pointed out that Rancho was the truck route used by truck training <br />school and he inquired if it would come under the new ordinance. He raised questions on repaving <br />of the Americana residential development area and water drainage problems. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Comments, Inter -Governmental Agency reports, <br />Information Session and Action Items: <br />COMMENTS <br />District 5: CM Bennett asked that Staff provide a written response to Mr. Longfield. Director <br />Morris answered questions regarding a certain memorandurn. CM Bennett invited everyone to the <br />Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday. City Manager Garcia explained this was the first time he <br />had heard of the culverts and he would investigate and talk with Mr. Longfield tomorrow. <br />District 4: CM Cook spoke about the Christmas Home Tour; the Christmas Tea at the Ashley <br />House; the Christmas Home Decorating Contest; the Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall; the <br />railroad open house and the success of the Thanksgiving Dinners. <br />City Council Mins Dec. 7, 1999 3 <br />
