At 6:55 P. M., Mayor Gaytan declared the meeting adjourned to Closed Session and at 8:34 P. <br />M., the meeting was reconvened with all Members present except for CM Bennett who was <br />absent. <br />(A) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION <br />ACTION: Only one case was discussed and there was no reportable action. <br />(B) PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: CITY MANAGER <br />ACTION: City Attorney Derleth indicated there was no reportable action out of Closed <br />Session. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Mayor Gaytan, seconded by CM Grimsby, moved to direct staff to <br />finalize and execute a contract with City Manager Garcia, following the annual job <br />performance review, extending his contract to the original five-year term, making it a one- <br />time one-year contract extension, and to include compensation for a 5% salary increase with <br />a 3% benefit enhancement package, for a total of 8% increase, for his exemplary <br />performance and the extraordinary progress that Colton realized under his leadership this <br />past year. Motion carried with CM Bennett absent. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />At 8:38 P. M., on motion/second by CM Chastain/Sanders and with consensus of Council, <br />Mayor Gaytan declared the Regular Meeting adjourned to Tuesday, at 6:30 P.M., on February <br />23, 1999, for an update report on Deregulation/Post Prop 9. <br />6TERESA S.
