District 5 - CM Bennett reported repairs were scheduled, in the near future, on the fence in the <br />Flood Control District and on Reche Canyon Road. She requested Staff s input on the directional <br />signs and the kiosk, basically, what was happening to generate a letter from BIA. <br />District 2 - CM DeLaRosa said he worked with the Police Department on their current Firearms <br />training simulator. He announced distribution of District Two's newsletter. <br />District 4 - CM Sanders spoke about the Mello -Roos Districts and the notification of annual <br />ongoing assessment; announced town hall meetings and residential meetings in District 1 and <br />remarked on bootleg signs. <br />CM Sanders announced the resignation of Jim Rodriguez from the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. He declared an emergency existed by this vacancy and requested permission to <br />appoint Gwendolyn Brown at P. 0. Box 304, Colton. <br />MOTIONNOTE: Motion/second by Mayor Gaytan/CM Bennett to accept and make part of the <br />Agenda the appointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission, based on urgent need, and to <br />ratify the appointment of Gwendolyn Brown. Motion carried with no opposition. <br />At Large - Mayor Gaytan spoke on town hall meetings; the state of the City address; and, <br />misspellings in a recent article in The Sun. <br />STAFF REPORTS: <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />City Manager Garcia requested the adjournment of tonight's Meeting to February 23, 1999 for an <br />update report on Deregulation/Post Prop 9. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />City Attorney Derleth announced the City Council would meet in Closed Session to discuss the <br />following items: <br />(A) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION <br />Significant Exposure to Litigation Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b) <br />Number of potential cases: Two announced but only one case to be discussed. <br />(B) PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION <br />Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957 <br />Title: City Manager <br />RECESS: <br />City Council Mins February 16, 1999 4 <br />
