PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following individuals voiced community concerns: Bill Yahn, John Longfield, Steve <br />Henderson, Dale Chronister, Michael Berg, Steve Anderson, Jason Wagner and Andy ibarra. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: COMMENTS, INTER -GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY <br />REPORTS, INFORMATION SESSION: <br />District 5 - CM Bennett conveyed New Year greetings. She thanked the residents for their <br />positive feedback. <br />District 4 - CM Cook remarked on a recent Town Hall Meeting; complimented the Fire <br />Department on the "Firemen's Walk" and said the League of Cities Labor Relations Board <br />meeting would coincide with the next Council meeting and she would be absent. <br />District 3 - CM Chastain conveyed New Year greetings. She asked the following items be <br />agendized: (1) Welcome incoming businesses; (2) announce special events of present <br />businesses in town and (3) an informational item on computer readiness for Y2K. <br />District 2 - CM DeLaRosa thanked residents and the Police Department for a problem -free New <br />Year; thanked the Public Works Department for prompt street repairs and tree trimming <br />�- and thanked the Public Comment speakers. He invited all citizens to voice their concerns. <br />District 1 - CM Sanders conveyed New Year greetings. He remarked on public commentators; <br />indicated he was up to the challenge and would focus on global to the City's financial <br />condition; safety, infrastructure improvements, clean neighborhoods, Rancho Mediterranea <br />solution and Redevelopment Agency, storm drain improvements, Delhi Sand Fly, City <br />Youth. He asked that when problems are presented that solutions be suggested. <br />At Large - On Norton Air Force Base, Mayor Gaytan reported good news would be announced <br />on the lease/leaseback financing. He reported on a Tri -City Meeting of Mayors and City <br />Managers who discussed how the cities, Fontana, Rialto and Colton, can work together to <br />bring more funds and more projects, to beautify the I-10 corridor and do cooperative <br />projects with multiply agencies. <br />RECESS: <br />At 7:29 P. M., Mayor Gaytan declared a brief recess and at 7:25 P. M., the meeting reconvened <br />with all Members present. <br />❑ Election of Mayor Pro Tempore <br />MOTION/VOTE: Mayor Gaytan opened the nomination process for the position of Mayor Pro <br />Tempore. CM DeLaRosa nominated CM Cook and CM Sanders nominated CM Bennett.
