Presentations made by the nominees, CM Cook and CM Bennett. With consensus of Council, <br />staff was directed to draft an ordinance codifying the selection of appointment process for the <br />position of Mayor Pro Tempore, to be agendized for Council's next meeting. <br />Vote by District was recorded as follows: District 1 for Bennett; District 2 for Cook; District 3 <br />for Bennett; District 4 for Cook; District 5 for Bennett; District 6 for Bennett and At Large for <br />Cook. CM Deirdre Bennett was declared the Mayor Pro Tempore. CM Grimsby commended <br />the successful six years of service as Mayor Pro Tempore by CM Cook. City Manager Garcia <br />and City Attorney Carvalho were directed to draft an ordinance for the Mayor Pro Tempore <br />position and to prepare proper documents for the honorary title of Mayor Pro Tempore Emeritus. <br />❑ Intergovernmental Agency Assignments <br />Mayor Gaytan declared the nomination period "open" for the following intergovernmental <br />assignments: <br />A2ua Mansa Industrial Grow Association (AMIGA) <br />MOTION/VOTE: CM Bennett nominated CM Grimsby as primary representative and CM <br />Sanders as alternate to AMIGA and with no opposition, Mayor Gaytan declared the nomination <br />would stand as the appointment. <br />CONFIRE JPA <br />MOTION/VOTE: CM Grimsby nominated Mayor Karl Gaytan as main representative and Fire <br />Chief Tom Hendrix as alternate. Mayor Gaytan declined the nomination. <br />CM Sanders nominated CM Grimsby as primary representative and Fire Chief Tom Hendrix as <br />alternate and with no opposition, Mayor Gaytan so ordered. <br />I-10 Corridor Beautification Committee <br />It was noted that this committee had not met for one year. MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by <br />Mayor Gaytan/CM Chastain to leave the assignment open until the committee become active. <br />There was no opposition to said motion and it was so ordered. <br />ICRMA <br />CM Bennett moved to leave the appointments the same and CM Cook declined the nomination. <br />MOTION/VOTE: CM Sanders nominated CM Grimsby for appointment to this assignment with <br />staff to remain as recommended and with no opposition to said motion and it was so ordered. <br />SBIAA and IVDA <br />Mayor Gaytan reported that in July the SBIAA and IVDA might be combined, with more IVDA <br />duties placed under the airport to increase more of its revenues.
