Director Zamora <br />and Supervising Building Inspector Marty Ragels responded. After discussion on the <br />determination of "400 square feet," and waiver letter, City Attorney Brown stated it fell on the <br />seller to disclose to the buyer existing obligations and conditions of the property. He suggested <br />the waiver letter could be easily converted into a recordable instrument. Director Zamora agreed <br />to check with the Public Work's Department to see if this practice was already in place. <br />CM Cook and Grimsby, as author and second of the original motion, agreed to amend the motion <br />to include the change, under Section 15.04.050 Improvements and Dedications, from "400 square <br />feet" to "500 square feet." Motion carried with CM Bennett absent. <br />URGENCY ORDINANCE - UNIFORM FIRE CODES <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Cook/Chastain to waive full reading and pass an <br />Urgency Ordinance amending Chapter 15.16 of the Colton Municipal Code and adopting the 1997 <br />Edition of the "Uniform Fire Code," the 1997 Edition of the "Uniform Fire Code Standards" and <br />the adoption with amendments of the 1998 Edition of the "California Fire Code" (California Code <br />of Regulations, Title 24) prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and <br />property from fire and explosion, ORDINANCE NO. 0-12-99. <br />Fire Marshal Alan Sork made brief introduction. Motion carried with CM Bennett absent. <br />FIRST READING <br />Outdoor Festival and Special Events <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Cook/Grimsby to waive full reading and pass first <br />reading of an Ordinance amending Colton Municipal Code Chapter 5.44 regarding Outdoor <br />Festivals and Special Events, ORDINANCE NO. 0-10-99 carried with CM Bennett absent. <br />Personnel System Rules and Civil Service System <br />Motion made by Mayor Gaytan, seconded by CM Grimsby, to pull the item and return with it to a <br />joint workshop between the Civil Service Board and City Council, and to direct Staff to do so in a <br />timely manner. Legal representatives were asked to attend that workshop.
