PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />The following citizens expressed community concerns: William Yahn, Andy Ibarra, Manuel D. <br />Reyes. As directed, City Manager Garcia agreed to meet with Mr. Reyes and asked him to <br />provide his property tax bill. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: COMMENTS, INTER -GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY <br />REPORTS, INFORMATION SESSION: <br />ACTION ITEM: <br />Travel Costs Exceeding $1,000 <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/Second by CM Cook/Chastain to approve travel costs for the <br />following Members to attend the League of California Cities Executive Forum and Leadership <br />Academy in Monterey on July 28-31, 1999: CM Bennett ($1,412.63); CM Sanders ($866.22); <br />CM Cook ($1,451.66); CM Chastain ($1,271.44) and CM Grimsby ($1,271.44). Motion carried <br />with CM Bennett absent. <br />District 6 - CM Grimsby reported success for the turnouts at Palm and Litton Streets. <br />District 4 - CM Cook reported the City received a $50,000 CDBG grant to remodel the Luque <br />Center and invited citizens to an open house on June 17, 1999 from 4:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. <br />She thanked James King who drew the plans and Richard Ramirez who supervised the work. She <br />announced Discover Colton Nite on June 15, 1999 at the Community Center. <br />District 3 - CM Chastain remarked on the article in the Inland Empire Magazine about Assistant <br />to the City Manager Kathy Kively. She spoke on the Ken Hubbs article, the Discover Colton <br />Nite, the Lincoln School Tour and the day camp at the Community Center. <br />District 2 - CM DeLaRosa informed that two bulletin boards would be installed, at the Market on <br />Rancho and the G and G Mini -Market on Mill and Pennsylvania and used to display the calendar <br />of events of all the City's activities. He acknowledged two requests for handicap ramps at Orange <br />and Pennsylvania, to be installed in a couple of weeks. <br />District 1 - CM Sanders reported on the stop sign at Randall and Meridian; the Iron Horse Ridge <br />Meeting on June 14`x; the re -opening of West Valley Park in July with restrooms; Citizens Patrol; <br />sidewalks on Kimberly surrounded by Teresa, Macy and Patricia; water in the Watwood park <br />area; update on IVDA; district clean-up dates and anticipated LLMD improvements after July. <br />At Large - Mayor Gaytan reported on a recent tour of the Luque Center and the plan to reinstate <br />the senior programs; enforcement issues at the Berkley Court area; the vacant properties on the <br />West side of the railroad; weed abatement along those areas; increase of patrol and special <br />permitting on West O to Rancho. Mayor Gaytan moved to send a letter on the contract of Dr. <br />Stewart Bundy. City Attorney Brown advised the item was not on the agenda and that Mayor <br />Gaytan could announce his intention to send a letter. <br />City Council Mins June 15, 1999 3 <br />
