MOTION/VOTE: After discussion on lobbying, motion/second by CM Sanders/Chastain to <br />approve RESOLUTION NO. R-28-99 supporting certain actions taken by San Bernardino <br />Associated Governments in the development of a Regional Airport Plan for Southern California <br />carried with CM Grimsby and Mayor Gaytan absent. <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS: (Continued) <br />➢ Proclamation read by Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett declaring Census 2000 as top priority for <br />the City of Colton; Community Development Director Zamora accepted. <br />At 7:07 P. M., CM Grimsby returned to his place at the dais. <br />➢ Proclamation read by CM Chastain declaring support for the Kiwanis Club of Cooley Ranch's <br />efforts to seek nominees for the Family of the Year Award. <br />➢ Proclamation read by CM DeLaRosa declaring the week of March 29th to April 4th as <br />Community Development Week; Director Zamora accepted the document. <br />➢ Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett commended the Fire Explorers for achievements at the Fire <br />Academy. Firefighter Frank Ojeda commented and individual certificates were presented. <br />➢ Presentation to Los Padrinos [Not addressed] <br />ORDINANCES: <br />Shopping Carts and Laundry Carts <br />City Manager Garcia requested that the matter be pulled and referred to an existing standing <br />committee, comprised of Council Members Chastain and Cook, for further review and that the <br />item return to Council on the first meeting in May. Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett so ordered and <br />asked to be included on the committee. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Community concerns were addressed by the following citizens: Rev. Bob Johnson; Hector Luna <br />and Art Ramos. On a citation issued to Mr. Luna, City Manager Garcia noted that the Judge <br />would have to decide on any particular discrepancies arising from the citation. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />COMMENTARY <br />District 1: <br />CM Sanders announced a Town Hall Meeting on March 18'b at the Paul J. Rogers School; the <br />Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on March 19, for the Medical Center and a Town Hall Meeting on <br />April 7, at Medical Center.
