CITY OF COLTON <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 16, 1999 <br />Regular Meeting held on the above given date at 6:32 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City <br />Hall, with Mayor Pro Tempore Deirdre Bennett, presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Assistant City Manager Daryl Parrish led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION <br />Dr. Tom Harvick led the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />PRESENT <br />CM Donald J. Gaytan (CIF Tournament) <br />City Clerk Barrera <br />City Attorney Carvalho <br />➢ Certificate of Achievement was awarded to Anthony Santillan honoring him as Washington <br />High School's Student of the Month. <br />➢ CM Cook reported on the presentation of Resolution No. 99-8 to the City of Colton at a <br />conference for the State of California Resources Agency, State Historical Resources <br />Commission. This resolution makes the City eligible to apply for grants and to receive funds <br />for projects related to historic preservation. She complimented Kathy Kively, Assistant to the <br />City Manager for her work in this matter. [This item was agendized under Mayor/Council <br />section.] <br />➢ Presentation made by Robert Tenchure of Water Resources Management for San Bernardino <br />Valley Municipal Water District regarding a concept wherein a concrete channel, intended for <br />flood control, is used to run water on the surface and made to look like a little stream running <br />through town. He suggested that Colton could apply the concept to SAWPA project 16. <br />George Aguilar, Vice President of the Water Board and Chairman of the Santa Ana Watershed <br />Project Authority (SAWPA), spoke about the opportunities of the program, namely, the $11 <br />City Council Mins Nov 16, 1999 1 <br />
