CITY OF COLTON CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 16, 1999 Regular Meeting held on the above given date at 6:32 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, with Mayor Pro Tempore Deirdre Bennett, presiding. FLAG SALUTE: Assistant City Manager Daryl Parrish led the Pledge of Allegiance. Chastain STAFF PRESENT City Manager Garcia CEREMONIAL MATTERS: Presentations, Awards, Proclamations CM Richard A. DeLaRosa CM James B. Grimsby Mayor Karl E. Gaytan (CIF Tournament) City Clerk Barrera City Attorney Carvalho ➢ Certificate of Achievement was awarded to Anthony Santillan honoring him as Washington High School's Student of the Month. ➢ CM Cook reported on the presentation of Resolution No. 99-8 to the City of Colton at a conference for the State of California Resources Agency, State Historical Resources Commission. This resolution makes the City eligible to apply for grants and to receive funds for projects related to historic preservation. She complimented Kathy Kively, Assistant to the City Manager for her work in this matter. [This item was agendized under Mayor/Council section.] ➢ Presentation made by Robert Tenchure of Water Resources Management for San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District regarding a concept wherein a concrete channel, intended for flood control, is used to run water on the surface and made to look like a little stream running through town. He suggested that Colton could apply the concept to SAWPA project 16. George Aguilar, Vice President of the Water Board and Chairman of the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA), spoke about the opportunities of the program, namely, the $11 City Council Mins Nov 16, 1999 1
