The following individuals voiced community concerns: David Peterman renewed his request for <br />the City's help in contacting the City of San Bernardino and in obtaining stop signs at Macy and <br />Mill Streets. He complained about the chairs in Council Chambers. City Manager Garcia agreed <br />to call the City of San Bernardino. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Comments, Inter -Governmental Agency reports, <br />Information Session and Action Items: <br />Comments: <br />District 2 - CM DeLaRosa reported that he attended a recent School Board Meeting wherein he <br />asked the Board's assistance with the McKinley lower fill project. He announced to the Julian <br />Gray residents of a fax received from the City Manager's Office advising that from October 22 to <br />October 26, 1999, that the pavement project will be completed. <br />District 3 - CM Chastain spoke about Make a Difference Day in Colton, this Saturday. She <br />congratulated Smith's Flowers on their 50' Anniversary. There will be another tour with the Paul <br />J. Rogers School and she announced the Business Summit Breakfast to be held on October 21, <br />1999, at Peter Piper Pizza. She announced that the City of Colton and the County Board of <br />Supervisors Meeting to be held Thursday and Friday. <br />District 4 - CM Cook reported on the 101" California League of Cities Conference held in San <br />Jose, where CM Sanders was selected as a member of the LCC Board of Directors. She invited <br />the public to Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 23'd. She described the Dress for <br />Success Program. She asked for help in locating the missing San Salvador Church designation <br />sign. She announced Wilson School's Annual Halloween Carnival on Friday, October 29, 1999. <br />She said it was tree -trimming time, from October to December, in District 4. She announced the <br />City's Halloween Carnival at Fleming Park on Saturday, October 30'. <br />District 1 - CM Sanders made brief comment on his appointment to the LCC Board of Directors <br />and expressed appreciation for his family's support and the Council's support. <br />District 5 - CM Bennett congratulated CM Sanders upon his appointment. She thanked Staff for <br />beginning to change the sign in Reche Canyon and said she looked forward to its completion. <br />She, again, thanked Staff for addressing the street issues previously listed. <br />At Large - Mayor Gaytan said there would be community access to large, trash roll -off bins, <br />supplied by Colton Disposal, for the City's Make a Difference Day. He asked that Council hold <br />off on the replacement of the Code Enforcement Officer position, until after the October 26 <br />workshop. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />Added Item - Aquatics Club, Colton School District <br />Mayor Gaytan requested that an item be added to the agenda as an emergency item, to be known <br />as Item 10A. The Colton Aquatics Club of the Colton School District requested the use of the <br />City Council Mins October 19, 1999 3 <br />
