Certificates of Recognition were presented to Jason Toscano, <br />winner of the Silver Medal for Sheet Metal; Monica Santana, winner of the Bronze Medal for <br />Community Service and Angel Acevedo, winner of the Bronze Medal for Community Service. <br />VICA Treasurer Dat Vo made a brief presentation and Teacher Facilitator Bob Reedy <br />introduced the members in attendance. <br />❑ Proclamation was read honoring Smith's Colton Flowers 50'h Anniversary, a business started <br />by Suzie Smith in 1949 and operated by Suzie's son and his wife, Floyd and Linda Smith. <br />The Smith's accepted the document. <br />❑ A Certificate of Appreciation was read and presented to Colton Fire Marshal Alan Sork. <br />ORDINANCES: <br />Second Reading: Conditional Use Permits and Variances <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Bennett/Sanders to waive full reading and pass second <br />reading of an ordinance amending Section 18.58.070(A) of the Colton Municipal Code relating to <br />the expiration of conditional use permits and variances, ORDINANCE NO. 0-21-99. The <br />motion carried upon unanimous vote. <br />Second Reading: Permits for Public Dances and Dance Halls <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Chastain/DeLaRosa to waive full reading and pass <br />second reading of an Ordinance amending Chapter 5.32 of the Colton Municipal Code relating to <br />the issuance of permits for public dances and dance halls, ORDINANCE NO. 0-22-99. The <br />motion carried upon unanimous vote. <br />Second Reading: Parking of Trucks and Oversized Commercial Vehicles and Designation of <br />Truck Routes <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Bennett/Grimsby to waive full reading and pass second <br />reading of an Ordinance amending Sections 10.04.105 of the Colton Municipal Code relating to <br />the parking of trucks and oversized commercial vehicles on residential streets and adding Sections <br />10.04.107 and 10.04.109 to the Colton Municipal Code relating to the designation of truck <br />routes, ORDINANCE NO. 0-23-99. After brief discussion, Assistant City Manager Daryl <br />Parrish expected the majority of the signs to be installed by the time the ordinance would become <br />effective, not before October 31" and no later than December 31, 1999.
