In response to inquiry, Director Clarke
said that the improvements to the water and sewer lines were on target. As to ongoing
maintenance, Director Clarke said the program incorporated two phases — video inspection and
prioritization of lines. Discussion followed on electric customers, water customers, and the Drew
substation.
Director Clarke said the "clean and show" program would entail a new billing system to
aggregate the bills for empty and rehab facilities at Rancho Med. He explained that the present
ordinance did not allow the separation of sewer and water charges. Staff was directed to submit
an amendment for the separation of the water charge from the utilities bill. Councilmember
Sanders suggested the item was appropriate for discussion and study under Redevelopment
Agency's Ways and Means Committee for subsequent referral to the City Council.
Discussion followed on requests for more lighting and other unbudgeted items.
ADJOURNMENT:
At 7:43 P.
