The following individuals voiced community concerns: Art Thompson and Art Ramos. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Comments, Inter -Governmental Agency reports, <br />Information Session and Action Items: <br />Comments: <br />District 6 - In response to a request to attend the Parks and Recreation Commission, CM Grimsby <br />said that most of the Council Members would be at a League of Cities event for the remainder of <br />the week. <br />District 5 - CM Bennett thanked Staff for the Reche Canyon Estates signs. She said three of them <br />were up. On the fourth one, she was told that it could not be erected because of a palm tree. She <br />asked if the fence could be moved around the palm tree, to save it. City Manager Garcia said he <br />would return with a cost estimate and how to do it. She thanked the landscape and lighting <br />employees for a good job. She thanked the Streets Department for the repair job on Washington <br />Street. <br />District 4 - CM Cook informed of a reception hosted by Childcare and Arrowhead Regional <br />Center for a two-day Seminar presented by Dr. Brazelton. She thanked Childcare Manager <br />Carolyn Jones and her staff for their hard work. She announced the City Library's presentation <br />of "Wyatt Earp Today" on Saturday, January 29' at 2:00 P. M. She thanked the City's tree - <br />trimmers for their work on Second Street. She said the residents were delighted. <br />District 3 - CM Chastain also thanked the City Staff for the work being done on the streets and <br />the citizens for their patience. She said there was more to come. <br />District 2 - CM DeLaRosa asked that Captain Heusterberg's January 3rd memorandum regarding <br />commission appointments be forwarded to the Code Enforcement Commissioners to let them <br />know the commission is important and is not being abolished. He announced two truck signs <br />were installed and asked Police Department to enforce City law accordingly. <br />BOARD AND COMMISSIONS <br />District 1 - CM Sanders announced the appointment of Elsie Holtz to the Code Enforcement <br />Housing Advisory and Appeals Board. He reported on construction work at Randall and Pepper <br />Avenues: (1) Lighting poles were on order; (2) the drainage was 95% complete; and, the road <br />was being widened up to San Bernardino's City limits. He encouraged fellow Council Members <br />to contact the San Bernardino City Council and request the continuation of the widening process <br />to Baseline Avenue. He spoke about the West Valley Park dedication. He said he would set up a <br />reading file on information from League of Cities: Ecommerce v. Morter; ERAF funding and <br />5% increase to league dues to enhance lobbying effort of LOC. He asked that Redevelopment <br />Director report on February I" or 8' on the formation of the Mobile Home Rent Review <br />Commission. <br />At Large - Mayor Gaytan asked for a running attendance record, for three years, of his <br />commissioners.
