ORDINANCE: <br />SECOND READING: <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/Cook to waive full reading and pass Second <br />Reading of ORDINANCE NO. 0-05-00, amending Chapter 3.32, Section 3.32.030 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code relating to the imposition of a construction tax, and ORDINANCE NO. 0-06- <br />00, amending Chapter 16.58, Sections 16.58.010, 16.58.040 and 16.58.050 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code relating to the dedication of land or payment of fees for park and recreation <br />purposes. Motion carried with CM Grimsby absent. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Wastewater Treatment Facility <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider the City of Colton wastewater treatment facility's <br />Chlorine Risk Management Plan, per Section 4 of the Chemical Safety Act. <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett declared the Public Hearing "open." <br />City Clerk Barrera stated the Affidavit of Publication was on file in the City Clerk's Office and <br />reported she did not receive any protests or objections. <br />Utility Director Tom Clarke reported that under the Chemical Safety Act, the City was required <br />to file an emergency plan and hold a public hearing. He indicated that the plan complied with the <br />intent of the law and that a notice of hearing had been filed. <br />MOTION/VOTE: With no response evident, motion/second by CM Sanders/Chastain to <br />terminate the public hearing carried with CM Grimsby absent. <br />Utility Director Clarke stated the process that complied with the intent of the Act was now <br />concluded. He indicated that the Plan would be filed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. <br />LLMD <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider ordering the levy and collection of assessments <br />within the Landscape and Lighting Maintenance District No. I (LLMD. No. 1). <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett declared the Public Hearing "Open." <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett declared that the matter was continued to June 20, 2000. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Cheryl Couperus and Suzanne Scherzinger, teachers from Cooley Ranch Elementary School, <br />expressed gratitude to Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett and Councilmember Cook for the hospitality <br />City Council Mins June 6, 2000 2 <br />
