Appointments — Pursuant to MC§ Section 2.30.020 and MC§ Section 2.30.030 — Manner of <br />Appointment. <br />District 5 — CM Mitchell presented for ratification the appointment of Brenda Quintero as the <br />Youth Commissioner for the Recreation and Parks Commission. <br />Motion/second by CM Mitchell/Hernandez to ratify the appointment of Brenda Quintero as Youth <br />Commission on the Recreation and Parks Commission. Motion carried with Mayor Bennett/CM <br />Chastain/Ramos absent. <br />District 2 — CM DeLaRosa presented for ratification the appointment of Gilbert Arrieta to the <br />Community Facilities District Commission (CFD). <br />Motion/second by CM DeLaRosa/Hernandez to ratify the appointment of Gilbert Arrieta to the <br />CFD Commission. Motion carried with Mayor Bennett/CM Chastain/Ramos absent. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: City Manager. <br />City Manager Parrish presented for Council approval, Consent Calendar Item No. (s) 3 through <br />13 with Item No. 4 being pulled for a separate vote. <br />Motion/second by CM Zamora/Hernandez to approve Consent Calendar Item No. (s) 3 through <br />13 with Item No. 4 being pulled for a separate vote. Motion carried with Mayor Bennett/CM <br />Chastain/Ramos absent. <br />(4) Award of Contract/Lowest Bidder - Authorization Request to Award Contract for the <br />Demolition of Concrete Bleachers at Veterans Park to the Lowest Responsive and <br />Responsible Bidder J & G Industries, Inc. of Fountain Valley, California, in the Amount <br />of $15,300. <br />Discussion and motion/second by CM Mitchell/Zamora to approve the award of contract to J & G <br />Industries. Motion carried with Mayor Bennett/CM Chastain/Ramos absent and CM Hernandez <br />voting NO. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />(3) Warrants — Approved Payable Warrants #56114 to #56295, dated 3/6/03, totaling <br />$876,014.99; Payroll Warrants #237827 to #238255, dated 3/17/03, totaling <br />$616,633.93; Payroll Warrants #238256 to #238403, dated 3/18/03, totaling <br />$130,683.21; as recommended by the Finance Director, on file in the Finance <br />Department. <br />(4) Award of Contract/Lowest Bidder - Authorized request to award contract for the demolition <br />of concrete bleachers at Veterans Park to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder J & <br />G Industries, Inc. of Fountain Valley, California, in the amount of $15,300.
