K. The word "federal" shall mean the Government of the <br />United States of America. <br />L. The word "incidental" shall mean depending on, directly <br />and immediately pertaining to, involved in, but not an <br />essential part of. <br />M. The word "shall" is mandatory; the word "may" is per- <br />missive. <br />N. The word "state" shall mean the State of California. <br />O. The words "used for" includes the words "arranged for, <br />designed for, occupied or intended to be occupied for". <br />Section 18.04.020 Specific Definitions. <br />Access - A place or way by which pedestrians and vehicles <br />shall have safe, adequate and usable ingress and egress to a <br />property or use as required by this Title 18. <br />Accessory Building - A building, part of a building, or <br />structure which is subordinate to, and the use of which is inci- <br />dental to that of the main building structure or use of the same <br />lot. Where an accessory building is a part of, or joined to the <br />main building, such accessory building shall be counted as part. <br />of the main building. <br />Accessory use - A use customarily incidental to a principal <br />use established on the same lot or parcel of land, which accessory <br />use does not alter said principal use nor serve property other <br />than the lot or parcel of land on which the principal use is <br />located. <br />Administrative/Professional Services - Offices of private <br />firms or organizations primarily used for the provision of pro- <br />fessional, executive, management or administrative offices, legal <br />offices, architectural firms, physicians offices, insurance <br />agencies, real estate firms and other similar activities where <br />a service is rendered, as distinguished from the handling of <br />commodities. <br />Adult Businesses - Any massage parlor, model studio or <br />arcade, bookstore or theater which is not customarily open to the <br />general public because minors are excluded by virtue of their age <br />as a prevailing business practice. <br />Airport - Any area which is used or is intended to be used <br />for the taking off and landing of aircraft, including helicopters, <br />and -any appurtenant areas which are used or are intended to be <br />-3- <br />
