All hvdrants shall be <br />accessible to the Fire Department apparatus by roadways meeting the requirements <br />f <br />lin Section 10.207. <br />(c) Section 10.307(e) <br />Every building constructed for use as a place where people sleep, <br />including houses, condominiums, apartments, motels, and hotels shall have <br />installed therein an approved fire detection system. Such system may consist <br />Hof one or more detectors sensitive to heat, and at least one detector sensitive <br />to products of combustion other than heat. Phen such systems consist of a <br />single detector, it shall be sensitive to products of combustion other than <br />heat. Alarm signaling devices shall be clearly audible in all bedrooms when <br />all interventinq doors are closed. For the Purposes of installation and <br />maintenance, only the appropriate sections of NFpA. Standard No. 74, "Standards <br />for the Installation, Maintenance and Use of Home Fire Warning Systems" shall <br />be considered accepted engineering practices. Installations of said systems <br />shall have prior approval of the Chief of the Fire Department. No existing <br />building or dwelling unit within it shall be sold or rented, and no remodeling, <br />additions or repairs of a value of $1,000.00 or more shall be made <br />thereto, unless and until the residence meets the renuirei,ients of <br />Section 10.307(e).
