The date of sale is <br />interpreted to mean the date when the contract to purchase is negotiated and <br />signed. When a detector sensitive to products of combustion other than heat, <br />or a system of heat detectors and a detector sensitive to products of <br />combustion other than heat are installed, the Fire Department shall be notified <br />and an inspection will be made to insure compliance. A permit will then be <br />issued which will be forwarded to the Title Company so the escrow will be in <br />8 11 order. <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />281 <br />(d) Section 11.111 of the Uniform Fire Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />11.111 Chimney Spark Arresters. <br />n <br />(a) Each chimney used in conjuction with any fireplace or any <br />heating appliance in which solid or liquid fuel is used shall be maintained <br />with an approved spark arrester. <br />(b) An approved spark arrester shall mean a device constructed of <br />stainless steel, aluminum, copper or brass, woven galvanized wire mesh, <br />nineteen (19) gauge minimum of three -eights (3/8) inch minimum to one-half (1/2) <br />inch maximum openings, mounted in or over all outside flue openings in a <br />vertical or near vertical position, adequately supported to prevent movement <br />and visible from the ground. <br />(e) Section 10.309(b) 5 added. Section 10.309(b) 5 of the Uniform <br />Fire Code is hereby added to read as follows: <br />1. New building or structures for which application for building <br />permits are officially filed with the Colton Building and Planning Department <br />after the effective date of this ordinance and which have a total floor area <br />of 7,500 square feet or more; and in all eating, dining, drinking and dancing <br />establishments having a floor area of 5,000 square feet or more; and <br />
