1. In the R -E, R-1 and R-2 zones: <br />a. No outdoor advertising structure or <br />commercial advertising shall be permitted; <br />b. Signs, the total area of which shall not <br />be greater than one hundred square feet, may be temporarily <br />erected for the purpose of land subdivided for sale into <br />five or more lots when located on the land to which the sign <br />refers, and which signs shall be removed immediately on <br />completion of sales operation; <br />C. For rent signs or for sale signs shall not <br />exceed three square feet in surface area for any one lot or <br />parcel of property; shall not exceed two signs for any one <br />lot; <br />d. Signs and/or nameplates shall be permitted, <br />provided that said -signs or nameplates shall not exceed one <br />square foot in area, and that said sign or nameplate displays <br />only the name of the properties`or any trade or professional <br />title required by'the permitted use. <br />2. In the R-3, C-1 and P -F zones: <br />a. For residential uses: <br />i. Apartment rental. One sign, not <br />exceeding twenty-four square feet of sign surface area announcing <br />apartments for rent or lease, may be placed upon land upon <br />which an apartment building is under construction or for <br />which the site plan has been approved. Such sign shall <br />be removed within thirty days after completion of construction. <br />Thereafter signs announcing apartments for rent or lease shall <br />be limited to three square feet of sign surface area in any one <br />apartment complex. <br />ii. Identification. Any parcel of real <br />property containing five or more dwelling units shall be - <br />permitted to have displayed thereon one permanent sign per <br />street frontage not exceeding six square feet of surface <br />area depicting only the name and/or address of the apartment <br />upon which such sign is displayed, except that apartment <br />identification signs may have: -areas larger than herein <br />limited if the committee has'made a finding that the larger <br />sign is in architectural harmony with the premises upon <br />which it is to be located, and the area of the real property, <br />its public street frontage and/or the number of dwelling <br />units or the number of entrances require larger sign surface <br />area to identify the premises adequately. <br />iii. Flexible Material Prohibited. No <br />pennants, banners, or other paraphernalia composed of paper, <br />cloth or other flexible material shall ber permitted. <br />iv. Temporary Signs. There shall be no <br />temporary signs other than those temporary signs specifically <br />permitted by this section. <br />V. Lighting. All illumination shall be <br />indirectly lighted or shadow -lighted so that the immediate <br />
