1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />W., <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-23-89 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON, ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR THE <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT; BUILDING <br />DIVISION, FOR A BUILDING PERMIT CONTRACTOR <br />PERFORMANCE BOND <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton., Community Development <br />Department, Building and Safety Division) (.hereafter called the <br />Division), does, on � day-to-day basis, issue Building Permits, <br />and; <br />WHEREAS., the Division must inspect all work performed <br />under authority of sa d Permits, and; <br />WHEREAS, ach Permit must be "closed -out" at its <br />expiration or completion of work, and; <br />WHEREAS, there are many contractors who do not call <br />for inspections and especially final inspections, andi <br />WHEREAS, said failure to call for final inspections <br />causes the Division to expend staff time and city resources <br />beyond the costs offset by permit fees. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council finds and declares: <br />1. That it has recoonized that the expenditure <br />of <br />Division staff time and resources must be reimbursed by those who <br />require the service. <br />2. That the Building Division, after evaluating <br />current building permit services, is recommending the <br />establishment of a Performance Bond for said services, to assure <br />Building Permit Final Tnspections. <br />
