Q- 0 5- 9 5 <br />AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON RE- <br />IMPOSING A MORATORIUM ON ISSUANCE OF BUILDING <br />PERMITS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS IN SLOPE <br />AREAS OF THE CITY OF COLTON WHERE COMPACTION <br />PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED <br />WHEREAS, the City Council on March 15, 1994 adopted Ordinance No. 0-05-94 <br />establishing a 45 day moratorium on construction in Reche Canyon, La Loma Hills and <br />immediately adjacent hillside areas so that the City could study its current building standards and <br />determine whether any revisions are advisable to assure the stability of future construction in <br />those areas; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council extended the moratorium imposed by Ordinance No. 0-05- <br />94 as to the Reche Canyon area only by action taken on April 19, 1994 for a period of ten <br />months and 15 days; and <br />WHEREAS, the moratorium imposed by Ordinance No. 0-05-94 has now expired; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has not yet concluded its review of its building standards as they <br />relate to the problems experienced in the Reche Canyon and adjacent hillside areas and has <br />-1- <br />
