1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />(e) The moratorium on issuance of building permits for new construction or for <br />rehabilitation of existing construction damaged by slippage, subsidence or other <br />movement of earth for slope area construction within the City of Colton shall have no <br />effect on any current building permits that have been issued for construction in the <br />hillside or slope areas of the City, nor shall it have any effect on building permits for <br />ancillary structures not intended to be constructed as dwelling units. <br />SECTION 2: Pursuant to the authority granted to the City Council by California <br />Government Code Section 65858 to protect the health, safety and general welfare of the <br />residents of the City of Colton, the City Council hereby re -imposes the interim urgency <br />moratorium imposed by Ordinance No. 0-05-94 on March 15, 1994 on the issuance of any <br />building permits to include building permits for new construction or for rehabilitation of existing <br />construction that has been damaged due to slippage or subsidence or other movement of earth <br />in those areas of the Reche Canyon and immediately adjacent hillside areas identified and to be <br />identified by the Community Development Director and the City Public Works Director as high <br />risk areas due to compaction problems and on the processing of all permits for construction <br />within those areas of the City to take effect immediately upon the adoption of this ordinance and <br />to continue for a period of 45 days or until the Community Development Director and the Public <br />Works Director have completed their review, evaluation and any necessary modifications to the <br />City building standards and procedures for such slope areas. <br />—3— <br />
