10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />No officer or employee in the competitive service shall, directly or indirectly, solicit or receive, or be in <br />any manner concerned in soliciting or receiving, any assessment, subscription or contribution, whether <br />voluntary or involuntary, for any purpose affecting his working conditions, from any person other than an <br />officer or employee in the competitive service. <br />SECTION 13: APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS (Ordinance 1122, 1962) <br />The Council shall appropriate such funds as are necessary to carry out the provisions of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 14: PENALTY FOR VIOLATION (Ordinance 1122, 1962) <br />Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance (as determined by the <br />City Council), shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon a conviction thereof shall be punishable <br />by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment for a period of not more than six months or by <br />both such fine and imprisonment. <br />SECTION 15: SEVERABILITY (Ordinance 1122, 1962) <br />If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held <br />to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this <br />ordinance. The Council hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance, and each section, <br />subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more <br />sections, subsections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional. <br />SECTION 16: REPEAL (Ordinance 1122, 1962) <br />All ordinances and/or all amendments to ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 17: EFFECTIVE DATE —PUBLICATION (Ordinance 1122, 1962) <br />This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after the date of its adoption and prior to the expiration of <br />fifteen days from the passage thereof shall be published at least once in a weekly newspaper of general <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />
