The City has
commenced an extensive economic impact/market research study and land -use study in
an effort to determine the potential affects of siting new RV dealerships within the City
of Colton. The City has also begun preparing proposed amendments to the City's
Zoning Code. The
establishment of additional RV Dealers would create an over supply of RV vehicles in
the City of Colton which will negatively impact the financial stability of the existing RV
dealers that generate a significant amount of sales tax revenue for the City. If additional
RV Dealerships are approved within the City of Colton, they may prove to be harmful
to the long term viability and profitability of the existing RV Dealers and negatively
impact the City of Colton's sales tax revenues. Additionally, to allow the approval of
land use entitlements for additional RV Dealerships in the City at this time while the
City's Zoning Code may be amended and while City staff is conducting economic and
land use studies concerning the development of additional RV Dealers in the City of
RVPUBISRC\40441
-2-
