1 <br />2, <br />3'I <br />4'. <br />5'. <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton desires to adopt the California Building <br />Standards Code as adopted by the State of California Building Standards Commission <br />in Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations ("collectively the Codes"), with <br />necessary amendments to assure the Codes are tailored to the particular safety needs <br />of the City of Colton as required by its unique climatic, topographic and geologic <br />conditions; and <br />WHEREAS, all other legal prerequisites to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have occurred; <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COL ON DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: The City Council hereby incorporates the recitals contained <br />herein, detailing the necessity of adopting this urgency ordinance for the immediate <br />preservation of the health and safety of the residents and businesses of the City of <br />Colton, as if fully set forth herein. <br />SECTION 2: FINDINGS. <br />0 <br />The City Council hereby finds that the prop <br />amendments to the <br />California Building Standards Code adopting the CBC, CMC, CPC and CEC, as well as <br />the proposed amendments to other codes, are reasonably necessary because of local <br />climatic, geologic or topographic conditions. This finding is sup rted and based upon <br />the following express findings and determinations, followed by the applicable <br />amendments: <br />1. The City experiences relatively low amounts of precipitation, <br />very low humidity levels and extremely high temperatures.
