Section 1922.4 is added to the California Building Code to read as <br />follows: <br />All residential concrete slabs shall be required to provide: <br />(a) wire welded mesh 6" x 6' by 10 gauge; <br />(b) vapor barrier 6 mil.; and <br />(c) for engineered grading, recompaction of all plumbing <br />trenches shall meet adequate compacting <br />requirements as stipulated in the compaction reports <br />and as determined by the Building Official or his/her <br />designee." <br />10. Section 2315.5.6 is added to the California Building Code to read as <br />follows: <br />2315.5.6 Structural Integrity. Shear walls shall be properly <br />connected to their supports and carried up to roofs, through floors and down to <br />foundations. Structural discontinuity shall be justified by analysis and details for shear <br />transfer. Shear walls shall not terminate at unblocked diaphragms or at diaphragms with <br />unsupported panel joints unless justified. <br />Where a shear wall terminates at a diaphragm and is parallel to the <br />diaphragm framing members, a satisfactory shear collector (or framing member) shall be <br />aligned under the shear wall. Transverse full -depth solid blocking shall be provided at <br />not more than four feet on center with a minimum of two lines of blocking at wall edges. <br />Where a shear wall terminates at a diaphragm and is perpendicular <br />to the diaphragm framing members, three lines of continuous full -depth solid blocking <br />shall be provided between the framing members at not more than 24 inches on center <br />under and preferably symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the shear wall.@ <br />11. Sections 3309.5 of the California Building Code is amended by <br />adding the following paragraph: <br />Geology soils reports shall be recognized for a six month period. <br />After the six month period expires and without activity an upgrade shall occur to the <br />7 <br />
