No person shall park any vehicle upon any private property for the <br />3 principle purpose of displaying such vehicle thereon for sale, hire, lease, or <br />rental unless the property is duly zoned and permitted by the City to allow <br />4 that type of business at that location and no person shall allow the parking of <br />5 any vehicle upon any private property for the principal purpose of displaying <br />such vehicle thereon for sale, hire, lease, or rental without having first <br />6 obtained the necessary permits and approval from the City. <br />7 C. This Section shall not prohibit a person from parking a vehicle on <br />property on which such person resides, for purposes of sale, hire, lease, or <br />8 rental, provided such vehicle is registered to such person and is otherwise <br />9 permitted by Title 18. <br />10 D. For the purposes of this Section, the term "vehicle" shall include both <br />"motor vehicle" and "vehicle" as defined in California Vehicle Code Sections <br />11 415 and 670. <br />12 E. Nothing in this Section shall be construed to prohibit the placement of <br />13 any sign, advertising or notice on or upon any vehicle." <br />14 SECTION 3: Section 10.04.075 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended as follows: <br />15 <br />16 "There is added to Section 9.3 "No Parking" area as follows: <br />17 (k) Within fifty feet of an intersection, except passenger cars. <br />18 (1) Parking a motor vehicle, so as to be visible from the public right-of-way, is <br />prohibited on the front yard or side yard of residential property except as follows: (1) in a <br />19 garage or carport, (2) in the driveway connecting a garage or carport with the adjacent <br />20 street or public right-of-way, (3) on property without off-street parking in a garage, carport <br />or driveway that is less than thirty-two feet wide and where the residence fronts on a street, <br />21 in which case two vehicles may be parked in or on such a garage, carport or driveway, (4) <br />recreational vehicles, including motorhomes, pickups with campers, may be parked in side <br />22 yards. <br />23 (m) On private or publicly owned property without the permission, express or <br />24 implied, of the owner or person in lawful possession of such property or in a manner <br />different or for a period of time longer than the permission which was given. <br />25 <br />(n) On property owned or operated by the City and designated or set apart for <br />26 vehicle parking purposes by employees of the City without direct or implied consent of the <br />27 City or its authorized agent ." <br />28 SECTION 4: If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance <br />shall be held invalid, the invalidity thereof shall not affect any of the other provisions of this <br />ordinance. <br />RVPUBIACD1654423 4 <br />
