R-113-86 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION NO. 2 AND 3 FOR THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1 PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972, APPOINTING THE ENGINEER OF WORK AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF AN ENGINEER'S REPORT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton (this "City Council") has determined that the public interest, convenience and necessity, require the installation, construction and maintenance of public landscaping and lighting appurtenant facilities as set forth in Section 22525 of the Streets and Highways Code (the "Code"), State of California, within the incorporated boundaries of the City of Colton; WHEREAS, this City Council hereby finds and determines that the public interest, convenience and necessity require Annexation No. 2 and 3 to the City of Colton Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 for the purpose of installing, constructing, operating and main- taining street landscaping and lighting and appurtenant facilities authorized by Section 22525 of the Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Colton as follows: Section 1. That this City Council hereby initiates proceedings for Annexation No. 2 and 3 to the City of Colton Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 (the "District") for the maintenance, servicing and operation of public landscaping and lighting located within the areas proposed to be annexed to the District, and to levy and collect special benefit assessments to pay the costs thereof, all pursuant to the Land- scaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (Division 15 of the Code).
