R-114-86 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />DECLARING INTENTION TO ORDER ANNEXATION NO. 2 AND 3 TO <br />THE CITY OF COLTON LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING MAINTENANCE <br />DISTRICT NO. 1 DECLARING THE WORK TO BE MORE THAN LOCAL <br />OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT; SPECIFYING THE EXTERIOR <br />BOUNDARIES OF THE AREAS TO BE ANNEXED, AND TO BE ASSESSED <br />THE COST AND EXPENSE THEREOF; DESIGNATING SAID AREAS AS <br />A PROTI0N OF CITY OF COLTON LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING <br />MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1; DETERMINING THAT THESE <br />PROCEEDINGS SHALL BE TAKEN PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING <br />AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972; AND OFFERING A TIME AND PLACE <br />FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS THERETO <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton, ("this City Council") <br />has received a written request for annexation of Tracts #12197, 9964, 9965, <br />9966 and 9968 to the City of Colton Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance <br />District No. 1 pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (Califor- <br />nia Streets and Highways Code Section 22500 et sec. "the Code") and this City <br />Council has agreed to initiate proceedings to complete such annexation; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has certified that the written request pre- <br />sented to this City Council contains the signatures of owners owning <br />more than sixty percent (600) of the property of the assessable areas of <br />the properties subject to be annexed and assessed for the proposed works <br />of improvement and complies with the requirements of Section 2804 of the <br />Code; and <br />WHEREAS, this City Council wishes to order Annexation No. 2 and 3 <br />to the City of Colton Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 <br />pursuant to Article 2 of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 of the <br />Code and levy and collect annual assessments within the areas so annexed; and <br />WHEREAS, the Engineer of Work has prepared and filed with the <br />City Clerk a report containing the matters specified in Section 22567, <br />et. seq., of the Code; and <br />
