Salary Increase <br />(a) Effective January 1, 1986, the salary schedule shall be increased <br />by 5% across-the-board. <br />(b) Notwithstanding any Y -Rating which may occur as a result of the <br />implementation of the Andersen wage study, no employee shall receive <br />less than a 5% salary increase for 1986. <br />2. Maintenance of Benefits <br />All other terms an�ll conditions of employment in existence immediately <br />prior to the effective date of this Memorandum of Urderstardirig and not <br />altert:d by this agreement, shall remain the same, �Anchenged, and ir, full <br />force and effect unless altered by the mutual agreement of the City and <br />the Association. <br />3. Savings Clause <br />Should any provision of this agreement be held invalid by a court of <br />competent jurisdiction, then the remaining provisions shall remain in <br />full force and eff6ct. <br />4. Collateral Matter. <br />Neither this 1986 Memorandum of Understanding in general, nor Article 1(b) <br />herein in particular, shall be utilized by the City as a defense to, nor <br />constitute a waiver by the Association of any administrative or court <br />
