CITY OF COLTON <br />RECREATION SERVICES MANAGER <br />DEFINITION <br />To plan, organize, implement,coordinate and schedule the <br />recreational activities and services for the citizens of <br />Colton, and;to supervise and direct full and part-time staff. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Receives administrative direction from the Human Services <br />Director. <br />Exercises direct and indirect supervision over full and part <br />time staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited <br />to, the following: <br />Plan, organize, supervise and implement recreation programs <br />that meet the needs of the community. <br />Provide operational policy and procedural direction over the <br />community centers. <br />Inform community residents of services provided by the Centers. <br />Prepare, monitor and administer the division budget and contracts. <br />Maintain close working relationships with a wide variety of <br />community groups including the school district, church <br />organizations, youth "gangs" and families. <br />Provide administrative support - technical assistance for park <br />department. <br />Schedule the use of all park facilities by community groups. <br />Approve and coordinate all programs and activities at the <br />community centers. <br />Direct the operation of the public swimming pool;and supervise <br />personnel. <br />Assist in the development of goals, objectives and plans for <br />future park and recreational activities. <br />Select, supervise, train and evaluate employees. <br />Provide recreational information to the public. <br />Research community needs and assess viability and implement <br />programs to meet those needs. <br />
