City of Colton <br />Recreation Services Manager (Con't) <br />May act as City liaison with Recreation and Parks Commission. <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />Principles and procedures of recreational management. <br />Procedures and techniques of budget preparation and <br />administration. <br />Principles of personnel selection, supervision, training <br />and evaluation. <br />Standard program analysis and evaluation. <br />Procedures for planning, implementing, and maintaining <br />a variety of recreational programs and services. <br />Ability to: <br />Design, develop and implement programs to meet the <br />recreational, cultural and services needs of the community. <br />Develop and administer department policy and procedures. <br />Direct, train, schedule and evaluate assigned personnel. <br />Develop, prepare and administer a budget and contracts. <br />Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in <br />writing. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships <br />with public groups, agencies, the media and others <br />contacted in the course of work. <br />Experience and Training <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. <br />A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the <br />administration of municipal recreation and social. services <br />or a related area, including two years of which have been <br />in an administrative or supervisory capacity. <br />
