NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council <br />of the City of Colton as follows: <br />Section 1. A special election shall be conducted <br />with Improvement District "A" of the City of Colton on <br />February 9, 1988, to submit to the voters of the Improvement <br />District the following proposition: <br />Shall the City of Colton be authorized to levy <br />a special tax upon all taxable real property <br />within Improvement District "A" in an amount YES <br />not to exceed $12,748.70 per share of <br />James Sullivan Mutual Water Company stock held <br />by the owners of such parcels on February 9, _ <br />1988, a portion of which shall be collected <br />annually, as determined by resolution of the <br />City Council of said City for a period not to NO <br />exceed 35 years? <br />Section 2. The special election shall be conducted <br />wholly by mail pursuant to the provisions of Section 1340 of <br />the California Elections Code. <br />Section 3. The deadline date of December 17, 1987, <br />at 5:00 p.m. is hereby established for receipt of written <br />arguments for or against the measure. Written arguments may <br />be submitted by members of this City Council, any voter or a <br />bonafide association of voters of Improvement District "A," <br />or any combination thereof. Such written arguments shall <br />not exceed three hundred words in length, and shall be filed <br />with the City Clerk of the City of Colton at 650 N. La <br />Cadena Drive, Colton, California 92324. <br />-2- <br />
