FLSA EXEMPT EMPLOYEES <br />All classifications represented by the Association are exempt <br />from the Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />HEALTH INSURANCE <br />The City shall contribute a sum not to exceed $240.22 per month per <br />employee for City provided health insurance coverage. This amount <br />shall be increased on November 1, 1987, November 1, 1988, and <br />November 1, 1989, to a flat dollar amount equivalent to the cost of <br />"family" coverage under the Health Net Medical Insurance Program <br />Group Number 50766A. <br />"Family" coverage is that coverage which exists for more than two per- <br />sons. Any increases in the City's flat dollar contribution after the <br />expiration of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be subject to the <br />meet and confer process. <br />Each employee is required to maintain a minimum coverage for him/her - <br />self in a plan of their choice. In those instances where the em- <br />ployee's medical insurance premium is less than the City's monthly <br />contribution, the difference between said dollar amounts shall be <br />deposited in a deferred compensation program on behalf of the <br />employee, or may be provided at the request of the individual em- <br />ployee in the form of a bi-weekly cash disbursement. <br />HEALTH INSURANCE AFTER RETIREMENT <br />Employees who are members of the Police Management Unit as of <br />January 1, 1987, shall be eligible for retirement health insurance <br />pursuant to Resolution 4598 (attached as Exhibit B and incorporated <br />herein by reference). Future employees (those serving in represen- <br />tative classifications after January 1, 1987) of the Association <br />shall not be eligible for retirement health insurance pursuant <br />to Resolution 4598 (See Resolution No. ., attached and incor- <br />porated herein by reference as Exhibits This provision is con- <br />tingent upon the City Council's adoption of a resolution which <br />precludes future members of the City Council and Executive Staff <br />from participation in Resolution 4598. <br />OPTICAL PLAN <br />The City shall provide to each employee in the Police Management Unit <br />an optical plan which will include the following: <br />A. Annual vision examination up to $40.00 by a licensed opthalmolo- <br />gist for the employee and eligible dependents. <br />B. An annual amount of up to $100.00 towards lenses and frames for <br />employees and an additional $50.00 towards lenses and frames for <br />dependents if they do not require a City paid examination. <br />3 <br />
