Union and/or the elected Union representative, from the pay of those <br />employees who individually request, in writing, that such deductions <br />be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of said request. <br />The exception of the deduction once each pay period shall be when <br />there are three pay periods in one month. When there are three pay <br />periods in a month, dues and assessments shall be deducted only twice <br />in that month. The total amount of dues deducted shall be forwarded <br />by the City to the Treasurer of the Union. <br />The procedures required for the payroll deduction of dues and assess- <br />ments shall be subject to the policies of the Finance Department and <br />other affected departments of the City. The Union shall indemnify <br />and hold the City harmless from any and all claims, demands or suits, <br />or any other action arising from the deduction of dues and assessments. <br />ARTICLE IV <br />UNION RIGHTS <br />It is agreed that the Union shall have access to use of City facilities <br />for the conduct of general membership, Board and committee meetings. <br />The Union agrees that meetings shall not cause undue disruption of <br />City business either by frequency or duration. The Union shall notify <br />the Fire Chief or his designated representative prior to Union meetings <br />utilizing City facilities. <br />Two (2) members of the negotiating <br />time off with pay for all meetings <br />shall be mutually set by the City <br />of the negotiating team, with the <br />designated representative, may be <br />and conferring. <br />1. Shift Personnel: <br />team shall be allowed reasonable <br />for meeting and conferring which <br />and the Union. Additional employees <br />approval of the Fire Chief, or his <br />allowed time off with pay for meeting <br />ARTICLE V <br />HOURS <br />The work week for fire suppression personnel is 56 hours per week <br />averaged on a calendar year basis. <br />2. NonShift Personnel: <br />The work week for nonsuppression personnel is 40 hours per week <br />averaged on a calendar year basis. <br />ARTICLE VI <br />OVERTIME <br />A. 7K Exemption <br />The City of Colton has exercised its ability to take a statutory <br />117K" exemption for sworn fire personnel. The work period for such <br />employees shall be 27 days in length. <br />
